Just had my phone call taken by Tracie and Russell on The Atheist Experience, my favorite TV show!!! That beat watching any Super Bowl:

"I want to have as many true beliefs as I can and as few false beliefs as I can." Matt Dillahunty
Just watched the show; I am surprised that no one else wrote at least a "hello!" on your blog ;)
ReplyDeleteI guess the AE is not well known enough. What a shame... I wish it was well known; better prepared, on a well known channel, etc...
anyway, cheers!
Someone did actually, but they posted the comment under "The Concept of Miracles" article, which I talked about on the show. Thanks for the hello though. The shameless plug has resulted in a few more followers on my blog, which is great! I love meeting Atheists and sharing ideas with them.
ReplyDeleteGratz on the call, Chris.
ReplyDeleteAnd welcome to The Big A.
- George From NY
Thanks George! Are you the same George who has called into the show more than once before?
ReplyDeleteJust heard you mention it, thought I'd look it up. So, um, that's what I did.
ReplyDeleteGood going! Patience pays off. And it was a great change after Mr. I-Can-Call-Anything-God.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I waited on hold for about 70 minutes before they took my call. I hoped calling on Super Bowl Sunday would increase my odds of getting on. Perhaps it did...
ReplyDeleteRadiometricx: Thanks for checking it out. So what do you think?
ReplyDeleteHello there, I'm another AE listener who enjoyed your call. (Note to self: jump start my own blog again, then pimp it on AE.)
ReplyDeleteGood point on the similarities between religion and abusive relationships. I'm looking forward to your post about the power and control wheel.
Intrinsicallyknotted:
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment! I'm going to start working on that other article right away.
Hello, Serene Atheist, I heard you on TAE TV.
ReplyDeleteJinsong: Hello! So any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHey Serene,
ReplyDeleteI wrote a bunch of stuff, but accidentally erased it. The shorter version: I heard you on The Atheist Experience. Keep up the good work. Drop by atheistasshole.wordpress.com if you like.
Best,
Anton.
Anton: I've made that same mistake myself while writing. It's quite frustrating. I really would have liked to have read the long version, but thanks for the encouragement. I'll definitely check out your blog.
ReplyDeleteHello! Fellow atheist here, I just heard about your blog from a YouTube Clip from that Austin atheist radio show (sorry, forgot it's name). I'm looking forward to your "The Power and Control Wheel of Religion". Adding you my my list of blogs I visit everyday. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie! I am working on that article and hope to get it done today, though that may be a little too optimistic, as I have these things called kids and a job. I'm hoping I can make it happen today though.
ReplyDeleteHi! I saw the episode of "The Atheist Experience" where Tracie and Russel answered your call. I had to say that you guys all hit it right on the nail. I actually took the time to look up the symptoms of Battered Woman's Syndrome, and there are definitely similarities between BWS and religious indoctrination.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hate to disrespect others' beliefs, but people who believe in miracles are probably not aware of how the math behind Probability works, and should read an algebra book.
Here's another reader responding to your shameless self promotion on the AE show ;)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your upcoming post. I would love to hear more about the psychological impacts of religion from someone with your professional counselling experience.
PS: the blogroll on the right side is ridiculously long!
Just heard you on the atheist experince and I am curious to see your power and control wheel of religion.
ReplyDeleteThatAtheistChick: Thanks for your positive comments! I'm sure you'd also agree that the person who needs to read an algebra book also needs to read a basic science text book.
ReplyDeleteMike: I certainly have no regrets about the shameless self promotion. Hits to by blog have gone up 1,700%. lol.
Jody: Please comment and let me know what you think!
Heard you on the AE show. Keep thinking and growing!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through their show via youtube.
ReplyDeleteGood work
